Launched ‘Classic Boats’; builds luxury wooden boats in Hudson Falls

In April Classic Boats set up shop in a 15,000 square foot warehouse at 5 Depot Street in Hudson Falls making one-of-a-kind wooden boats whose prices can range from $250,000 to $5-million.

“We have a proposal out right now for a very special type of boat,” founder-owner Adam Porter told The Chronicle. “It’s a three-year build, 11,000 hours of labor.

Portnoy effect: Pizzerias say his viral reviews increased sales

The Chronicle caught up with the local pizzerias that Barstool Sports founder and social media personality Dave Portnoy rated last month. All but one of them said his viral reviews increased sales.

Crave Pizza at Mount Royal Plaza in Queensbury got a 7.7 rating, Portnoy’s highest local review and said a big boost.

Washington County tax payers: Help!!!

After a marathon four-and-a-half hour meeting, the Washington County Board of Supervisors voted to override the New York State tax cap of about 2.59% for its 2026 budget that has a projected 20% hike now.

First, though, the Board got an earful from their constituents. The room was packed.

Warren County funds Lake George TV but for 6 months, not the whole year

Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe writes: The Warren County Board of Supervisors on Friday, Oct. 17, approved funding the Lake George TV promotional station by Hood Communications, a branch of Jesse Jackson’s Look TV.

But the Board cut the term of the contract from one year to six months, with a pro-rated payment of $137,400 in Occupancy Tax funding, versus the full year payment of $274,800.
