Work begins on burial site and memorial for found 1776 LG soldier remains

Lake George officials broke ground on Friday, and work was to begin Monday, on “Repose of the Fallen,” the reinterment site and memorial at Lake George Battlefield that will be the final resting place for 44 Continental American soldiers and others.

Their remains were discovered in February 2019, during a construction project at Courtland Street in the Village.

Dog deaths arraignment

Robert and Anastasia Palulis pleaded not guilty in Argyle Town Court Tuesday night to 22 misdemeanor counts of overdriving/torturing/injuring animals and failure to provide proper sustenance to 21 dogs that died last month at their Anastasia’s Acres Dog Boarding business in Argyle.

The case was adjourned by Judge Stacy Davis to Oct. 21 at 5:30 p.m.

Adk United girls hockey will play at Harding Mazzotti, exit GF Rec

Adirondack United, the highly successful girls hockey team comprised of players from several local high schools, will move from the Glens Falls Recreation Center behind the YMCA to the Harding Mazzotti Arena downtown as it seeks its third straight state championship.

Candidate’s post on Kirk death roils Moreau council race

Chronicle reporter Ben Westcott writes: Laura Garrant’s Facebook comment after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Utah on Sept. 10 has roiled the Moreau town council race.

Glens Falls Kiwanis at 100: Service, friendship, now 100+ members

Originally its membership was only men, “Kiwanis ‘smartened up’ in the mid 1990s to allow female members,” says current club president Jerrod Ogden.
