Ed Moore bought Queensbury Hotel 10 years ago today; hotel 100th 5/7

Today, Thursday, March 26, marks the 10th anniversary of Ed Moore’s purchase of the Queensbury Hotel, bringing it back under local ownership.

Unkauf: Shirt Factory vandalized by youths; he says some parents apologized

Eric Unkauf, owner of The Shirt Factory redevelopment on Lawrence and Cooper Streets, says young people vandalized bathrooms, smashed a glass entrance door and caused “more minor issues.”

The subject came up at the city’s Quality of Life Committee meeting.

‘Vertical farm’ lettuce, herbs, above Farmacy ceased operating; Jeff Flagg: ‘We proved it works,’ seeking operator

The City of Glens Falls is seeking someone to resume growing lettuce and herbs at the “vertical farm” it pioneered on the third floor at 22 Ridge Street above Farmacy restaurant.

Glens Falls hires Planning Director

Glens Falls has hired city resident Allison Hargrave-Gaddy as director of its new Department of Planning and Zoning. She will also be responsible for some grant writing and administration, said info.

Salary is $93,000.

The city press release said, “With a shift of personnel and resources, the city was able to hire Hargrave-Gaddy at a net positive change to the city’s budget.”
