Golden Monkey Lounge to open, 58 South Street

Business partners Gregg Singer and Larissa Ovitt said their Golden Monkey Lounge at 58 South Street will “soft-open” Friday, October 20.

The duo purchased the building for $325,000 in February and said they’ve invested around $100,000 to create an “elevated cocktail lounge”

Brown water update: Mayor says it should pass, no danger

Three times over 90 days, many Glens Falls residents have experienced alarmingly brown water.

“My water was running a color, I guess you could describe it as ‘Coca Cola brown,’” Crandall Street resident Mike Metzger told the Sept. 26 Common Council meeting.

Anxious or angry residents posted pictures on Facebook of bathtubs filled with rust-brown water.

Tim Drawbridge to exit; GF seeks Communications Chief, $50,000

Tim Drawbridge resigned Friday as the City of Glens Falls’s first full-time Communications Director after roughly 10 months in the job. He’s “taking a new position in the Capital District closer to his daughter,” the city press release said.

Glens Falls is seeking a new Communications Director. It said it pays “$50,000-$55,000” with “Excellent benefits.”
