Foes cite health questions vs. ‘Clean Earth’s plan to test-treat PFAS, Ft. Edward

About 35 people showed up at Fort Edward High School Wednesday night, Jan 14, for “The Fort Stops PFAS” meeting in opposition to waste management company Clean Earth’s plan to treat up to 5,000 tons of PFAS contaminated soil over a two-week period at its facility on Towpath Lane in Fort Edward.

Clean Earth has been operating the facility since 1995.

Glens Falls tells Trustco: Turn off that blue roof light!

Trustco Bank’s blue accent lights along the roof of its 37 Bay Steet branch will remain dark after the Glens Falls Planning Board voted 5-2 on Jan. 7 not to allow them.

Trustco illuminated the building. Then Glens Falls Building & Codes ordered the lights turned off.

Warren County’s misspent millions

Warren County said in a Dec. 31 press release it “was the victim of a financial crime through a fraudulent phishing scheme” earlier in December.

It said, “Two electronic payments in the amounts of $2.1 million (December 12th, 2025) and $1.2 million (December 22, 2025) were transmitted to a fraudulent bank account by the Warren County Treasurer’s Office.”
