Glens Falls mayor hopes Bonacio will break ground by summer, still hunts financing

Glens Falls Mayor Bill Collins told The Chronicle the start of construction has been delayed on Phase One of Sonny Bonacio’s South and Elm Street project as the Saratoga developer negotiates loans and other funding, especially given changing interest rates.

Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe writes: All Abilities Productions of Upstate New York is moving into the former Aeropostale store space at Aviation Mall, announced co-founders Andy O’Rourke and Theresa Kempf.

Woman, 20, shot, killed in Hebron; murder charge

Kevin D. Monahan, 65, has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death Saturday night of Kaylin A. Gillis, 20, of Schuylerville.

In a somber media session Monday afternoon, Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy detailed a tragedy that happened outside Mr. Monahan’s house on Patterson Hill Road in the Town of Hebron.

Wildfire extinguished in Queensbury’s Hudson Pointe Nature Preserve

Fire companies extinguished a wildfire Wednesday at the Hudson Pointe Nature Preserve in Queensbury, the town’s Recreation Department said.

“An area near the riverside bluffs was burning and several fire companies responded along with DEC Forest Rangers to control and extinguish the blaze,” the Department posted on Facebook.
