South High alumni return to volunteer and actively fund-raise for the Marathon Dance.

Meghan Page, class of 2018, heads the alumni crew this year. Also on the committee: Prior chair Katrina Greene (Class of 2008), Adam Basile (2019), Quinn Beattie (2012), Sarah DeLuke (2014), Xavier DeLuke (2014), Melissa Rivers (1998), Aiden Taylor (2021) and Renee Varney (1997).

Student chairs: Lessons learned from choosing the recipients

Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe writes: “SHMD can really change a recipient’s life,” Lucy Zimolka, a 2023 student chair, told The Chronicle. “The dance is fun but the cause is really what matters.”

GF-SGF faculty ‘Bridge’ Basketball raised $4,523

“Red and Black supports Red and Blue!!” said a Glens Falls School District Facebook post touting success of the annual South Glens Falls-Glens Falls faculty game to benefit the Marathon Dance.

SGF students chose 12 people, 10 non-profits as recipients

The student committee selected 12 individuals, ages 2 to 63, and 10 non-profits to receive proceeds from the 46th annual South High Marathon Dance. There were 90 applications for help.

The dance continued during Covid, but in an altered way, is finally back at its traditional location — the high school — on its traditional first weekend in March, Friday to Saturday, March 3-4.…
