Jean Lapper to run for Queensbury Town Supervisor

Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe writes: Democrat Jean Anderson Lapper declared her candidacy for Queensbury Town Supervisor. She is currently the town Deputy Supervisor, appointed by Supervisor John Strough, who is not seeking re-election.

She’s run twice before for office, unsuccessfully — in 2019 for a Queensbury At-Large seat on the Warren County Board of Supervisoirs and in 2022 against State Senator Dan Stec.

Raw sewage in brief South Glens Falls pipe leak at Feeder Canal; repairs

The “force main” pipe delivering sewage from South Glens Falls to the Glens Falls wastewater treatment system broke on Thursday, March 5, underneath the Glens Falls-South Glens Falls bridge on Route 9, “discharging an estimated 7,000 to 10,000 gallons of untreated sewage into the Feeder Canal.”

The break occurred on the Glens Falls side of the bridge at Oakland Avenue.

Raw sewage flowing into Feeder Canal in GF; SGF declares emergency

The “force main” sewage pipe from South Glens Falls to the Glens Falls collection system has broken underneath the Route 9 Feeder Canal Bridge, discharging an estimated 180 gallons per minute of untreated sewage into the Feeder Canal, a Glens Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant notification said.
