Glens Falls to celebrate new & improved sports courts

Hannoush Jewelers comes to Queensbury

Hannoush Jewelers, which has stores on Wolf Road in Colonie and Route 9 in Clifton Park, has opened in Queensbury, at the former Louis Jewelers site on Route 9.

Brothers and co-owners Albert and David Hannoush purchased the property in December from Louis Carciobolo, who operated Louis Jewelers in the former Sutton’s complex.

Washington Co. eyes 1% hike in sales tax saying it could ease property tax

Washington County is considering a plan to raise the county sales tax by 1% as a means to mitigate property taxes.

The Board of Supervisors was presented an impact report of raising the sales tax rate from 7% to 8% during the April 11 Finance Committee meeting.
