Bonacio team upbeat starting renovation of Sandy’s, Hot Shots, 36 Elm

Developer Sonny Bonacio’s team has started work on renovating the former Sandy’s Clam Bar, Hot Shots and “incubator” buildings at South and Elm Streets, key components of Glens Falls’s $10-million Downtown Revitalization Initiative.

Lights to light on Nov. 22 at Paul Smith’s house, Clayton Ave., Glens Falls

Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe writes: Friday evening, Nov. 22, Paul Smith will flip the switch to “on” for the massive light display and interactive attraction at his house on Clayton Avenue, Glens Falls, behind the high school football field.

Santa will be there from 5 to 8 p.m.

Chris Patten’s $4 million South & Broad St. plans

Glens Falls developer Chris Patten has contracts to purchase the building at 46-56 South Street and the former Rite Aid property at 10 Broad Street.

He said he’s buying the large building at South and Elm Streets from Chad Nims for $800,000 and plans to put $1- to $1.5-million into renovating it, and he’s purchasing the Rite Aid property from Peter Shabat for $675,000 …

Glens Falls: Addressing tents in Cole’s Woods & Haviland’s Cove

In addition to “day-spenders” hanging out in City Park that Glens Falls Mayor Bill Collins discussed with the Chronicle last week, he also offered an update on people who have been living in tents at Haviland’s Cove and in Cole’s Woods.

Thunder home open Saturday; smash season tix sales mark

The Adirondack Thunder have their first home game on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. against the Trois-Rivieres Lions.

Team President Jeff Mead said Monday the game was “very close” to selling out, and that the Thunder had already sold about 2,400 season tickets, shattering the previous record of 1,614 season tickets sold set last year.
