Glen Drive-In books ‘Sound of Freedom’; delay anger; playing now

A “shipping delay” of the Sound of Freedom to the Glen Drive-In in Queensbury caused a social media dust-up this week.

Owner Brett Gardner booked the Jim Caviezel-led film, centered on the topic of child sex trafficking, to show last week, but said the drive did not arrive in time.

Garrow movie will show at Glen Drive-In on Thurs., 9/10

Garrow, Lori Bailey’s 2019 movie about Adirondack 1970s murderer/rapist Robert Garrow, will be shown at the Glen Drive-In on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The 77-minute movie will be shown on its own rather than as a double feature, owner Brent Gardner tells The Chronicle.

No new movies; classics click at Glen Drive-In

The good news for the Glen Twin Drive-In in Queensbury is that drive-in movies are one of the few pandemic-allowed, crowd-drawing entertainments.

The bad news is that Hollywood studios aren’t releasing any first-run hits that are the lifeblood of movie theaters.

“I was a little apprehensive with the older movies,” Brett Gardner, 39, the third-generation owner of the Glen Drive-In, told The Chronicle.
