Solar eclipse 4/8 rare ‘totality’; County: Prepare for heavy traffic

A solar eclipse — where the moon passes in front of the moon — will cross New York State on Monday afternoon, April 8.

Portions of the Adirondacks will be in the path of “The Totality” causing darkness for more than 3 minutes between 3 and 3:30 p.m.

Bonacio projects ‘all green light’; GF must fulfill contract to give it free parking

“It’s all green light,” says Glens Falls Mayor Bill Collins, now that Governor Kathy Hochul approved $6.6-million in Home and Community Renewal tax credits for Phase Two of developer Sonny Bonacio’s Spring City projects on South and Elm Streets. It also activates Phase One.

Chronicle reporter Ben Westcott writes: Six Flags Great Escape Lodge announced that Florida-based chain Hurricane Grill & Wings will open this summer as its new flagship dining option.

The press release said Hurricane Grill & Wings, with almost 50 locations, is known for its “jumbo, fresh wings, featuring more than 35 signature sauces and rubs” and its “laid-back vibe.”

Winter’s Dream: How $3-million from occupancy tax was spent

The Chronicle filed a FOIL [Freedom of Information Law] request to learn how the Warren County Winter Coalition spent $3-million in allocated county occupancy tax to launch Winter’s Dream by Moment Factory at Fort William Henry. It ran from December 8 to March 9.
