Washington County tax payers: Help!!!

After a marathon four-and-a-half hour meeting, the Washington County Board of Supervisors voted to override the New York State tax cap of about 2.59% for its 2026 budget that has a projected 20% hike now.
First, though, the Board got an earful from their constituents. The room was packed.

Warren County funds Lake George TV but for 6 months, not the whole year
Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe writes: The Warren County Board of Supervisors on Friday, Oct. 17, approved funding the Lake George TV promotional station by Hood Communications, a branch of Jesse Jackson’s Look TV.
But the Board cut the term of the contract from one year to six months, with a pro-rated payment of $137,400 in Occupancy Tax funding, versus the full year payment of $274,800.

Led by new coach Sylvain Cloutier, the Adirondack Thunder play their home opener against the Trois-Rivieres Lions Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Harding Mazzotti Arena.
Cloutier played in Glens Falls for the Adirondack Red Wings in 1993-94 and the Frostbite from 2003 to 2006.
