49th South High Marathon Dance raised $735,231.64

The 49th annual South High Marathon Dance this weekend raised $735,231.64 for 36 recipients ­— 21 individuals in need and 15 organizations. 527 South High students danced.

“It’s a huge mix of emotions,” senior chair Parker Simon told The Chronicle right after the Dance. “Inside I feel so much right now. It’s great to know how much we just helped all those people.”

Glens Falls PBA raises new questions re John Hogan theft case

Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe writes: The Glens Falls Police Benevolent Association issued a statement Friday raising more questions about the handling and outcome of former police officer John Hogan’s alleged theft from the PBA.

He was accused of stealing more than $5,000 from the union, of which he was treasurer. The amount constituted a felony, the PBA said in its original press release about the case on December 3.…

Bill Collins plans new ‘Celtic Attitudes’ store in the Outlets

Former Glens Falls Mayor Bill Collins tells The Chronicle he’s moved his Celtic Attitudes T-shirt printing operation to a location in the “Million Dollar Half Mile” outlets on Route 9 in Queensbury.

Mr. Collins announced Monday on Facebook that he plans to open a new Celtic Attitudes storefront this April, next to Le Creuset in the Log Jam Outlets.

Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe writes: Democrat Jean Anderson Lapper declared her candidacy for Queensbury Town Supervisor. She is currently the town Deputy Supervisor, appointed by Supervisor John Strough, who is not seeking re-election.

She’s run twice before for office, unsuccessfully — in 2019 for a Queensbury At-Large seat on the Warren County Board of Supervisoirs and in 2022 against State Senator Dan Stec.
