Queensbury UFSD goes to voters Dec. 12: $39-million elementary school renovation

Queensbury Union Free School District announced a $39 million capital project called “Success for our Future” that will, among other things, renovate the 55-year-old Queensbury Elementary School, a district press release said.

Queensbury residents can vote on the project from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Queensbury Elementary School gymnasium, 431 Aviation Road.

At age 102, Glens Falls native Malcolm Champagne finally receives WW2 Purple Heart

Malcolm Champagne, a 102-year-old Glens Falls High School graduate, finally received a Purple Heart 80 years after his service in World War II.

It was presented at a senior living center in Portland, Oregon, on Sept. 15, POW-MIA Day, reported Stars and Stripes.
