Moreau Center’s preschool closing as families choose Universal Pre-K

Moreau Community Center is closing its nursery school-preschool program after “close to 40 years,” executive director Donna Nichols tells The Chronicle, largely because of a severe drop in enrollment since South Glens Falls School offered its free Universal Pre-Kindergarten program.

GF’s first cannabis shops get Planning Board nod

The Glens Falls Planning Board recommended OKs for two separate cannabis dispensaries, the city’s first, March 5.

Legacy Dispensary is planned at 12 Hudson Avenue in the building that right now is a Pizza Hut.

The newly named GF Cannabis Co. is planned at 72 South Street at the former Dizzy Chicken first came before the Planning Board as Saratoga Cannabis Co.

Queensbury H.S. hosts NYS VEX Robotics tourney

Robots will take over at Queensbbury school on Saturday, but no need for alarm. It’s just the VEX Robotics Northern NY State Tournament, taking place here for the first time, as Queensbury and other local schools have launched and grown their robotics programs to the point that warrants hosting the event.

LG’s Graceann Bennett lost her mom & the coach but thrives in last year as forward for Georgetown

Lake George High School 2019 grad Graceann Bennett has had to overcome hardship on the way to a career season as a fifth-year senior forward for the Georgetown University women’s basketball team.

During February of her junior season, her mother Michelle Bennett passed away at the age of 53
