No primaries after all in Stefanik race

Anticipated Republican and Democratic primaries in the 21st Congressional District won’t happen after all.

Neither Republican Jill Lochner nor Democrat Steven Holden filed nominating petitions by the April 4 deadline, the state Board of Elections confirmed Monday.

Stefanik would regain Moreau if new district map is okayed

The Saratoga County towns of Moreau, Hadley, Day and Edinburg, now represented by U.S. Rep Paul Tonko, D-Amsterdam, would be moved into the 21st Congressional District, represented by Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Schuylerville, under a new proposed congressional redistricting plan.

Stefanik backs using Pell grant money for short term job skills training; union & college back it
