Glens Falls grad Marika McCoola has New York Times Best Seller

Baba Yaga’s Assistant, the new book by Marika McCoola, age 27 and a 2005 Glens Falls High School graduate, debuted at third on the August 30 New York Times list of best-selling hardcover graphic novels.

(Number One is a Batman title, Number Two is a graphic memoir by famed New Yorker staff cartoonist Roz Chast.)

Wing heir gives trove to ACC

A seventh generation descendant of Glens Falls founder Abraham Wing has donated a trove of family documents — including many in Wing’s own handwriting — to the Hill Collection at SUNY Adirondack college library in Queensbury.

The heir, Kit Cornell, worked with Paul McCarty, executive director of the Fort Edward Historical
Association, in making the gift.
