Work is now underway on Phase 2 of Bonacio Construction’s South and Elm Street projects in downtown Glens Falls.

The official groundbreaking is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. project manager Steve Licciardi tells The Chronicle.

Bonacio says on its Website that Phase 2, known as South Street Apartments, will include a five-story building housing 70 mixed-income apartments — 49 one-bedroom, 20 two-bedroom, and one three-bedroom.

Thanks to my brother Rich, I’m following up on my story in the July 17 Chronicle about the Sears kit house tour I took with the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation.

Lake George officials broke ground on Friday, and work was to begin Monday, on “Repose of the Fallen,” the reinterment site and memorial at Lake George Battlefield that will be the final resting place for 44 Continental American soldiers and others.

Robert and Anastasia Palulis pleaded not guilty in Argyle Town Court Tuesday night to 22 misdemeanor counts of overdriving/torturing/injuring animals and failure to provide proper sustenance to 21 dogs that died last month at their Anastasia’s Acres Dog Boarding business in Argyle.

The case was adjourned by Judge Stacy Davis to Oct. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
