‘Ganjala’ Cannabis shop eyed at Fall Line Ski Shop property, Quaker Rd

FIRST IN THE CHRONICLE • Ben Westcott writes: Reece Rudolph plans to open a cannabis dispensary, “Ganjala,” in Queensbury in the current Fall Line Ski Shop building at 366 Quaker Road owned by Bruce Lundgren, the gear shop’s president.

Romance book store planned in downtown GF

Ashley Brownell of Queensbury plans to open a new bookstore dedicated to romance novels and fantasy books in the Ridge Street storefront that was most recently Whisper Boutique clothing store.

It’s called Just One More Chapter, “because I always say I’m going to read just one more and then I’m up until 3 a.m.,” Ms. Brownell says.

GF: Patten proposes 60 apts. on Glen-Harlem-Notre Dame block

Developer Chris Patten is proposing a 60 unit “Washington Square” apartment project at the Glen-Harlem-Notre Dame block across the street from the former Traveler’s Building.

The plan, which goes before the Glens Falls Planning Board on Auguar 6, includes two three-story apartment buildings with balconies for all apartment units and a one-story recreation and fitness center.

Teens charged in Glens Falls stabbing, arson, more

Glens Falls Police have arrested several juveniles on felony level charges over the last few months, the department announced in a Facebook post.

The police reported an attempted arson of a Maple Street commercial building. The Police said at the Board of Public Safety meeting that arson was attempted at the Queensbury Hotel. Minor damage to the building’s exterior area was reported.

‘Total loss:’ Fire at Lake George Village bandstand

A fire severely damage the Lake George Village bandstand in Shepard Park early this morning.
 
“It’s a total loss. I’m just trying to save the summer,” Lake George Village Mayor Ray Perry told The Chronicle.
 
Mayor Perry said the fire started just after 3 a.m. It was called in by a person “seeking shelter for the evening in the structure” at 3:42 a.m.
