Contacted by The Chronicle, Glens Falls Mayor Bill Collins spoke positively of Chris Patten’s proposed Washington Square 60-apartment project, though he pushed back on the developer’s characterization of the building at 391 Glen Street as “condemnable.”

The Warren County Board of Supervisors was to discuss raising the County sales tax from 7% to 8% at a workshop meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 14 — after The Chronicle’s Tuesday deadline.

Prior to the meeting, The Chronicle asked board chair Kevin Geraghty of Warrensburg if he expects the sales tax to be on the Friday, Aug. 16, monthly board meeting agenda.

A Trump Lake George Boat Parade organized by The Adirondack Republican Women’s Club of Warren County is set for Saturday, Aug. 17. from noon to 3 p.m.

It will start at Plumb Point on the lake’s east shore and proceed clockwise in a circle that includes passing Lake George Village and The Sagamore.
