Glens Falls adding 2 dog parks, at May St. & East Field

Chronicle Managing Editor Cathy DeDe writes: The City of Glens Falls has not just one but two dog parks in the works, both as park upgrades funded through the City’s ARPA — American Recovery Plan Act federal post-Covid funds, Mayor Bill Collins tells The Chronicle.

Argyle’s board eyes Saunders Transmission building for new Town Hall

The Argyle Town Board hopes to purchase the Saunders Transmission building on Route 197 for new town offices.

The property is listed for $800,000 with Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate.

“We’re actively involved in negotiations,” Town Supervisor Robert Henke tells The Chronicle. “I would like to get this done within the coming fiscal year, for sure.”

Patten redesigns Glen Street facade of apartment project to echo a building he plans to raze

Mayor Collins rebuffed

Glens Falls Mayor Bill Collins suffered a rare Common Council defeat Tuesday when his plan to buy the TD Bank property across from City Park for $1.2-million fell short by an abstention.

Ward Two Councilman Bob Landry, Ward Three Councilwoman Diana Palmer and Ward Four Councilman Ben Lapham voted no.

But the decisive action was Ward One Councilman Ed Donahue’s decision to abstain.
