June 13: Public update on GF’s South St. plans by Mayor & Sonny Bonacio

On Monday, June 13, Mayor Bill Collins and developer Sonny Bonacio will present their plans for the South Street-Elm Street overhaul and the Market Center that are core to Glens Falls’s use of the $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant awarded in 2016 by then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Rachel’s Spice Cafe to close

Chronicle Staff Writer Zander Frost writes: Rachel Dutra, who operates Rachel’s Spice Company & Cafe on Warren Street in Glens Falls with her husband Dave, announced on Facebook Live that she will close the cafe as of June 25.

Islamic Center buys former Glens Falls Christian Science bldg.

The Christian Science Society building in Glens Falls was purchased on April 6 by the M. Kahn Islamic Society of Upstate New York. Purchase price was $200,000.

Major downtown accident: Car goes through Davidson’s patio into Social

On Saturday morning, May 21, a vehicle drove off Glen Street in Glens Falls, through the front portion of Davidson Brothers Brewpub outdoor seating, and into a Downtown Social window.

The accident occurred before the restaurants were open for outdoor dining.
