Glens Falls Hospital has 30 ventilators, ‘enough to meet our surge plan’

“As of Monday afternoon, April 6, we have 12 inpatients who tested positive” for Covid-19, hospital spokesman Ray Agnew said in response to a Chronicle inquiry.

Asked how many are in intensive care (ICU), Mr. Agnew said, “This fluctuates literally hourly — in general between 5% and 12% require ICU care.”

John Herlihy left $2.2-million each to GF Hospital & Crandall Library

Lifelong Glens Falls resident and attorney John Herlihy has left $2.2-million to Glens Falls Hospital and $2.2-million to Crandall Public Library.

Mr. Herlihy, who died in July 2019, and his late wife, Jeanne Ellsworth Herlihy, were Glens Falls natives and St. Mary’s Academy graduates, said the press release from the hospital and the library.

Ray Agnew to return as VP to Glens Falls Hospital; will be spokesperson & liaison

Hospital finances improve

Glens Falls Hospital files its 2018 Internal Revenue Service 990 statement this week, and it shows improved financial performance — an $11.7-million gain for 2018 after a $34-million loss for 2017. But those numbers tell little of the story, because they are largely impacted by one-time transactions.
