Salmon fishing comeback on Lake George

Lake George Performing Arts bldg. push shifts to Forum

The people pursuing a year-round performing arts center in Lake George “have zeroed in” on the Lake George Forum building owned by Ralph Macchio, Sr., Mayor Bob Blais tells The Chronicle.

Motorboat hit kayak near Crown Island

A collision involving at least one kayak and a motor boat drew the attention of boaters and law enforcement around 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9. We were still tracking down details at press time.

Lake George Park Commission executive director Dave Wick said, “It was around Crown Island (east of Green Island). Warren County Sheriff’s office is handling the investigation.”

Lake George fish survey under way

Three times this summer at eight different sites, researchers from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute are laying out fyke nets — fish traps — in a fisheries survey for the Jefferson Project, RPI’s high-tech partnership with the Fund for Lake George and IBM.
