Shooting on Pershing Ave, Queensbury

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office said Friday morning at 10:27 am, it “was called to 13 Pershing Road in the Town of Queensbury for a report of a person, or persons, with stab or gunshot wounds. Essity closes South Glens Falls mill, will end local operations

Essity announced in a press release that it “has made the difficult decision to close its tissue manufacturing operations in New York state and consolidate production at its other U.S. sites. This closure will include the South Glens Falls paper mill, Greenwich converting facility and Saratoga warehouse/distribution center.”

It said 300 jobs will be lost.

GF: ‘Yes’ to beers & open containers at Take a Bite events

The Glens Falls Common Council at its Tuesday, June 27 meeting voted to lift the downtown open container ban for the weekly Take a Bite food festivals, held on Wednesday evenings from July 5 to August 9.

The ban is lifted only “within the parameter of Ridge, Glen and Maple Streets between Bay and Ridge,” and only during the specific times and dates of Take a Bite.
