Glens Falls: More discolored water

The City of Glens Falls acknowledged Tuesday it “continues to experience discoloration in the water supply as the City has begun its twice-yearly hydrant flushing program, and the system has experienced spikes in water demand from a large — as yet unidentified — user.”

The City says the water is safe.

50th Balloon Fest: ‘More special shapes than ever’

The 50th Adirondack Balloon Festival — Wednesday to Sunday, Sept. 20-24 expects 97 hot air balloons including 14 or 15 special shapes.

It’s the most balloons in years, and “more special shapes than we ever had before,” organizer Mark Donahue tells The Chronicle.

Hacksaw hospitalized following upbeat event at GF Fire Co.

WWE Hall of Fame wrestler and Glens Falls native son Hacksaw Jim Duggan was hospitalized Friday for an unspecified medical emergency following an honorary ceremony and meet-and-greet with fans at the Glens Falls Fire Station on Ridge Street.

“Jim was taken to the hospital and admitted yesterday evening,” his wife Debra wrote late Saturday afternoon on Hacksaw’s Facebook page.
