Cannabis stink in Moreau

A cannabis field off of Northway Exit 17 has raised a stink in Moreau, as nearby residents complain about the strong odor the plants are giving off.

The property in question is 63 Spier Falls Road, owned by Saratoga Springs-based Shangri-La Real Estate Holdings.

Cannabis, greenhouses, farmstand proposed at Exit 17

Chronicle reporter Ben Westcott writes: Shangri-La Real Estate Holdings of Saratoga Springs wants to build a dozen 3,600 sq. ft. greenhouses, a 5,000 sq. ft. drying/storage barn, and a 1,000 sq. ft. farmstand off Exit 17 at 63 Spier Falls Road in Moreau.

Moreau Planning Bd. votes 4-2 for 191-unit housing project next to Moreau Rec Park

Biochar issue rages anew in Town of Moreau

The Biochar fight is quickly boiling anew as the new town supervisor Jesse Fish and his council majority took office in January in Moreau.

Saratoga Biochar Solutions seeks to construct a “pyrolysis” facility in Moreau’s Industrial Park that would turn processed sewage into carbon fertilizer.

Draft DEC Biochar permits released; 2 public hearings next

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation released draft air and solid waste permits for public comment for the Saratoga Biochar Solutions facility proposed for construction in Moreau.

The facility would heat processed human waste to create a carbon fertilizer.

The DEC will now hold two public comment hearings “to ensure full consideration of any potential environmental and environmental justice concerns relating to the project.”
