Maple season: Slow start, good outlook

It’s that time of year again — the sap is starting to flow freely in sugar maple trees.

Habitat plans 28 condo units, Queensbury

Habitat for Humanity of Northern Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties wants to build 28 multi-family condominum units on Baybridge Drive off Bay Road in Queensbury. The not-for-profit is scheduled to go before the town Planning Board on Tuesday, March 25 for initial site plan review.

Glens Falls Black Bears seek NYS basketball title

Glens Falls boys basketball cruised into this weekend’s state Final Four in Binghamton, beating Beekmantown 100-51 Tuesday and Westhill 66-49 Saturday. The victories kept Glens Falls’ win streak, now at 52 games, intact.

The Black Bears (25-0) enter the state Final Four as the favorite. In Saturday’s semifinal at 3:15 p.m. they’ll face Wayne (23-2), a Rochester-area school that they beat in the state title game last year 50-37.

Dilligaf seeks bigger signs in Lake George: 1 variance OKd, 1 rejected

DILLIGAF, the controversial Lake George clothing shop at 325 Canada Street, requested variances to allow 36-square-foot signs on the shop facing Canada and Amherst Streets.

Village code stipulates that such signs can only be 25 square feet.

The Zoning Board voted unanimously at its March 5 meeting to approve the variance for the side facing Canada Street but not the Amherst Street facing side.…
