Elderwood in North Creek in peril; risk to 57 residents, 97 jobs

The owners of the nursing home Elderwood at North Creek have submitted to the state a draft closure plan. The home’s administrators say it needs a $2.5 million grant from the state to stay open.

Chronicle staff writer Zander Frost writes: The Phoenix Inn, formerly the Copperfield Inn, in North Creek sold for $1.94-million on February 1, Realtor Mitchell Muroff told The Chronicle.

Mr. Muroff said the buyers are a daughter and father, Zihan “Hannah” Ren and Buhai Ren, from Chelsea, Massachusetts under the name Vision Landmark, LLC.

Orphaned ‘Hot Tub Cub’ found in North Creek; gaining strength

A hungry 14-month-old black bear cub is being nursed back to health after he was found curled up next to a partially enclosed hot tub outside a North Creek ski house.
