West Mountain ski area has organized a fund-raiser this Sunday, April 10, for Lake George student Isabelle Perkett, 17, who needs a kidney transplant.

Hundreds of Johnsburg taxpayers are objecting to the new property valuations in the town’s first reassessment since 1953, almost 70 years.

More than 250 have made appointments for initial 10-minute informal grievance meetings, Town Assessor Letitia Williams tells The Chronicle.

Letters with preliminary assessments went out in mid-February.

Campaign signs are already up for Linda Clark and Lisa Doster as they challenge for Lake George School Board seats in the May 17 election.

Three seats are up for election.

Incumbent Maryanne MacKenzie, is seeking reelection, but Linda ‘Lin’ King and Melissa Seale are not.
