‘Taste of North Country’ is Sunday

The Glens Falls Kiwanis Club’s 23rd annual Taste of the North Country food festival returns to City Park in downtown Glens Falls on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain or shine.

Specialties from 37 area restaurants will be served in sample sizes. Nine restaurants are participating for the first time. “Come early for best selection!” urge the Kiwanians.

JMZ Architects’ upstairs lease was ending, so they bought the whole building

JMZ, the Glens Falls architect and planning firm, is buying the historic B.B. Fowler building at 190 Glen Street, from Flow Communications, whose Saratoga-based owner Bud Wolf bought and redeveloped the building 15 years ago.

The closing is scheduled “on or about Sept. 1,” JMZ president Tenée Casaccio told The Chronicle Tuesday. She wouldn’t disclose the purchase price.

NBC report sounds alarm on synthetic turf fields; GF has that kind

An Oct. 9 NBC News report citing health concerns from playing sports on synthetic crumb rubber fields prompted Glens Falls resident John Fair to again question the safety of Glens Falls High School’s Putt LaMay Field.
