Lake George Baking Company is a comeback story.

Carl “Buster” Alberino and his wife Debbie started it roughly 15 years ago — just after the demise of their Vanilla Bean bakery in Troy. Now, they have 15 employees and locations in Lake George and Queensbury.

Glens Falls picks Black Bears: Now what happens?

The Glens Falls Indians will become the Black Bears starting on July 1.

The new mascot was revealed and approved at the Monday night, April 3, Glens Falls Board of Education meeting.

School colors will still be red and black, and the district emphasized, “GF Nation remains our moniker.”

Saratoga County fights opioids with $900,000 payout; Narcan handouts, more

Saratoga County received $899,467.17 to date in five opioid settlement agreements with drug companies, and it is using some of that money to get Narcan in the hands of community members.

Naloxone, the so-called “Lazarus” drug in Narcan, temporarily halts the immediate effects of an overdose.

The County has held several free Narcan distribution events already this year.
