The Kiwanis had expressed some concern about whether restaurants would sign on, given increasing scrutiny by the New York State Department of Health and other state certification requirements.

Mr. Ogden said the club got proactive: “We are utilizing a reheating and cooling station to help with restaurants keeping temperatures at or exceeding safety levels.”

He said, “These costs as well as other requirements have been absorbed by O’Brien Insurance, Travelers Insurance, Rainers Gourmet Inspirations and St. Andrews ACE Hardware, through sponsorships and donations.”

Mr. Ogden said the roster of restaurants may yet fluctuate. He urges any eatery still interested in participating to call him directly at 744-7470.
